Tesla has started selling a modified Model 3 steering wheel in China that reintroduces the turn signal lever, which was removed in 2023. The existing Model 3 features button-style turn signal controls, but the modified wheel includes a turn signal lever and is priced at approximately 2,499 yuan (about $350). It is not yet available for sale in the U.S. Tesla previously reintroduced the turn signal lever in the January refresh of the Model Y. This move is seen as a response to growing demand for physical buttons and dials in the new car market. Tesla’s China website states that the modified wheel applies to Model 3 vehicles without steering levers produced after February 7, 2025, and advises that customers must make an appointment through the app before visiting a service center.
