일론 머스크의 인공지능 회사 xAI가 텔레그램과 4,020억원(3억달러) 규모의 파트너십을 체결해 AI 챗봇 그록를 10억 명의 텔레그램 사용자에게 배포한다.

텔레그램 CEO 파벨 두로프는 5월 28일 X를 통해 1년간의 파트너십을 발표했다고 밝혔다. 이번 계약에 따라 텔레그램은 머스크의 AI 회사로부터 4,020억원의 현금 및 주식을 받고, 텔레그램을 통해 판매되는 xAI 구독 수익의 50%도 받게 된다. 그록는 텔레그램 검색창을 통해 접근 가능하며 스레드 채팅, 텍스트 편집, 채팅 요약, 문서 요약, 받은편지함 에이전트, 그룹 채팅 관리 등 다양한 기능을 제공할 예정이다.

이 소식에 텔레그램과 연관된 톤코인 가격이 20% 이상 급등했으며, 현재 3.60달러에 거래되고 있다. 같은 날 블랙록이 텔레그램의 20,100억원(15억달러) 채권 발행에 참여했다는 소식과 전 비자 암호화폐 임원 니콜라 플레카스가 TON 재단의 신임 결제 부사장으로 합류했다는 소식도 함께 전해졌다. 텔레그램은 TON 재단과 긴밀히 협력하고 있으며 1월에 톤코인을 텔레그램 앱 서비스에서 유일하게 허용되는 암호화폐로 선정한 바 있다.

Elon Musk's artificial intelligence company xAI has partnered with Telegram in a $300 million deal to deploy its AI chatbot Grok to Telegram's 1 billion users. Telegram CEO Pavel Durov announced the one-year partnership on X on May 28. Under the agreement, Telegram will receive $300 million in cash and equity from Musk's AI company, plus 50% of revenue from xAI subscriptions sold through Telegram. Grok will be accessible through Telegram's search bar and will offer various features including thread chats, smart text editing, chat summaries, document summaries, inbox agents, and group chat management. The news sent Toncoin prices surging over 20%, currently trading at $3.60. The announcement coincided with reports that BlackRock participated in Telegram's $1.5 billion bond sale and former Visa crypto executive Nikola Plecas joined TON Foundation as the new Vice President of Payments. Telegram has been working closely with TON Foundation and designated Toncoin as the only allowed cryptocurrency in Telegram app services in January.
