TikTok is an app developed by China’s ByteDance, and the U.S. government has been pushing for either the sale or ban of TikTok due to concerns over data privacy and national security. Since taking office, President Trump has repeatedly extended the deadline for an executive order banning TikTok, and more than 170 million U.S. users are currently awaiting a final decision.
