Earlier this month, Musk stated in a call with CNBC’s David Faber that he aimed to assign a “proper value” to xAI. At that time, Musk did not mention specific fundraising plans, but sources indicated that xAI was preparing for a large capital raise. According to Bloomberg, the total amount raised could exceed $20 billion, though the final figure and terms have not been decided yet. xAI has not yet issued an official statement. Last month, xAI completed the acquisition of the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), valuing xAI at $80 billion and X at $33 billion. Musk commented, “The futures of xAI and X are closely linked. This combination will unlock immense potential by integrating data, models, compute, distribution, and talent.”
