Ford is developing a midsize electric pickup, starting at around $30,000, with a target launch in 2027. It will be built on the new Universal EV Platform and equipped with next-generation prismatic LFP batteries. The company plans to invest a total of $5 billion to expand its Louisville, Kentucky plant, creating or securing about 4,000 direct jobs. Ford said the platform will reduce the number of parts by 20 percent and cut assembly time by 15 percent, improving production efficiency. The first model is expected to offer more interior space than the Toyota RAV4 and acceleration comparable to the Mustang EcoBoost.
