Meta’s social network Threads is testing a new “text attachment” feature that allows users to easily share long-form content. The new feature lets users attach a block of text to a single post instead of stringing together multiple shorter posts, making it useful for sharing news summaries, book excerpts, and other extended content. Currently, only text is supported, but there’s a possibility that multimedia attachments such as images and videos could be added in the future. Meta says it plans to roll out the feature to more users, framing long-form support as part of Threads’ broader growth strategy that has recently included DMs, fediverse integration, custom feeds, AI enhancements, and more. Threads has surpassed 400 million monthly active users just two years after launch, while its competitor X has amassed more than 600 million.
