Lenovo has announced plans to acquire high-end storage company Infinidat. This acquisition is expected to significantly strengthen Lenovo's competitiveness in the enterprise storage market. Stuart McRae, Executive Director and General Manager of Lenovo's storage division, said, "With this acquisition, we have secured a high-performance block analytics storage solution," adding, "We are now able to provide customers with a differentiated and complete solution." Infinidat possesses industry-leading storage technology, particularly data management technology optimized for AI workloads. This is expected to help Lenovo narrow the gap with competitors such as HPE and Dell. Eric Herzog, CMO of Infinidat, explained, "We will be competitive across all areas of high-end storage, including primary storage, secondary storage, backup, and disaster recovery." Industry experts predict that this acquisition will be a major event that could change the landscape of the storage market in 2025.
