Data and AI platform company Databricks has successfully secured a massive investment round. The company raised a total of $15 billion, including a $10 billion equity investment and a $5.25 billion credit facility. In this investment round, global investors including Meta, Qatar Investment Authority (QIA), Temasek, and Macquarie Capital participated. This raised Databricks' company valuation to $62 billion. CEO Ali Ghodsi emphasized the investment's significance, stating that "organizations are recognizing the potential of generative AI and modernizing their data infrastructure." Databricks plans to invest the newly raised funds in developing new AI products, making strategic acquisitions, and expanding into international markets. The company, which recorded a 60% growth rate in recent quarters, aims to achieve an annual revenue run rate of $3 billion.
