Yann LeCun, Meta's chief AI scientist, has predicted a revolutionary change in AI technology within the next 3-5 years. At the Davos forum, LeCun stated that current AI based on large language models (LLMs) will soon reach its limits. According to LeCun, the new AI paradigm is expected to overcome the limitations of current AI, including understanding the physical world, persistent memory, reasoning ability, and complex planning capabilities. This is likely to be realized through the concept known as 'world models'. LeCun also predicted that the next decade will be the 'decade of robotics'. He suggested the possibility of robots with human-like intelligence emerging in real-world environments through the combination of AI and robotics.
