According to the security industry, the window for building their own Security Operations Center (SOC) and expanding into full‑fledged managed security service providers (MSSPs) has largely closed. Experts warn that MSPs will struggle to achieve efficiency with an in‑house SOC model and, without the necessary AI infrastructure and platforms, will find it difficult to keep pace with threat actors. As a result, some predict that the relevance of MSPs will gradually weaken. At the same time, opportunities are expanding for MSPs to help ensure the safe use of newly emerging AI tools. However, a security‑first approach may conflict with businesses’ urgency to move quickly on AI transformation, making the role of MSPs increasingly complex.
