Chinese automaker BYD has announced that it will provide autonomous driving features for free in all its vehicles, sending shockwaves through the electric vehicle market. Following this announcement, BYD's stock price rose by 4%, while Tesla's stock fell by 2%. BYD stated that its "God's Eye" system, which includes features like smartphone-controlled remote parking and autonomous overtaking on roads, will now be available for free in all its models, including low-cost vehicles. Previously launched in 2023, this feature was initially limited to high-end models. Meanwhile, BYD founder and chairman Wang Chuanfu declared this move as "the beginning of an era where autonomous driving is for everyone," emphasizing the company's goal to make advanced driving safety technology accessible to the masses.
