Microsoft's AI research team "accidentally" exposed 38 terabytes of personal data, including secrets, private keys, passwords, and more than 30,000 internal team messages, according to cloud security leader and software vendor Wiz. The exposed personal data included disk backups of two employees' workstations, Wiz said, adding that the breach occurred during the publication of an open-source training data bucket on GitHub. Microsoft countered that the breach was "responsibly reported under a coordinated vulnerability disclosure and has already been resolved," and that "no customer data was exposed and no other internal services were at risk."
