New Zealand government is reportedly going to frame laws that would force tech giants like Meta and Google to pay for sharing local news content on their platforms. New Zealand is set to charge 'fair price' ranging from estimated about $30 million to $50 million for using local news. The new legislation will be modelled on similar laws in Australia and Canada.
