[CES 2026] 엔비디아, CES서 차세대 AI 칩 '루빈' 전격 공개… "추론 비용 90% 줄인다"

기술 기업들이 엔비디아의 의존도를 줄이기 위해 자체 AI 칩을 개발하려는 움직임 속에서 엔비디아가 ‘AI 버블’에 대한 질문에 답했다. 엔비디아가 공개한 AI 데이터 센터를 위한 새로운 컴퓨팅 플랫폼인 베라 루빈은 업계 상당한 영향을 미칠 것으로 보인다. AI가 더욱 정교해지고 여러 단계를 거치는 과정 속 ‘추론’하는 능력이 향상됨에 따라 기존 방식으로는 더 이상 충분하지 않았던 부분에서 베라 루빈이 제 역할을 할 것으로 기대되고 있다.

The UK government has announced that it has designated data centers as 'Critical National Infrastructure' (CNI). Peter Kyle, the UK Minister for Science, Innovation and Technology, explained the background of this decision, stating, "Data centers are the engines of modern life, powering the digital economy and keeping our personal information safe." With this measure, data centers have been recognized as having the same level of importance as energy, nuclear power, and defense. This is the first instance in about a decade where a new sector has been granted CNI status. The CNI designation will provide data center operators with a direct communication channel with the government to prepare for and respond to cyber threats. The UK government expects this decision to strengthen national cybersecurity and improve the ability to respond to hackers and unexpected cyber incidents.
