마이크로소프트가 27일(현지시간) 인공지능(AI) 기능을 지원하면서 업무 지원 속도는 두 배 빨라진 업무용 메신저 '팀즈(Teams)'를 출시한다고 밝혔다. 팀즈는 그동안 경쟁 메신저인 세일즈포스 슬랙보다 느리다는 지적을 받아왔다. 이에 MS는 "새 버전의 팀즈가 프로그램을 시작하고 영상 통화에 참여하는 등 작업에 걸리는 시간이 기존의 절반으로 줄어드는 등 속도가 최대 두 배 빨라졌다"라고 전했다.

Microsoft is betting that incoming tech regulations will allow it a way to compete in the mobile gaming market alongside Apple and Google (and likely Epic Games, if things go its way). In an interview with the Financial Times this week, Microsoft gaming head Phil Spencer noted that the EU’s Digital Market Act (DMA) is expected to go into effect next March, which would allow companies to load their own app stores on Apple and Android devices. And Microsoft wants to do just that.

It took two years, but Microsoft is at last ready to let everyday users try its latest take on collaborative work. The company is releasing its Loop app in public preview form on the web, Android and iOS. As shown back in 2021, this lets people work on projects with live-updating components that can drop into Microsoft 365 apps like Word and Outlook. You can place a table in a Word document that updates as users change it, for instance.

Bing has crossed 100 million daily active users a month after launch of its chatbot AI. Microsoft credits Edge's growth in usage and the addition of the chatbot as a new feature for the boost. One third of Bing's daily preview users are using its chat AI for their queries every day. Microsoft is seeing three chats per session, with over 45 million chats since it introduced the new Bing.
