최근 서비스형 소프트웨어 SaaS의 기업 채택이 빠르게 증가하고 있다. 사용자가 필요한 서비스만 이용할 수 있도록 하는 소프트웨어에 대한 요구가 늘어나면서 SaaS의 성장도 이어질 것으로 보인다. SaaS 기업은 API를 통해 엑세스를 개방하고 새로운 버전을 얻을 수 있도록 허용하는 등 유연한 배포 옵션을 지원해야 생존하고 성장해야 한다고 업계는 내다보고 있다. 또한 전세계적으로 해커, 랜섬웨어 공격으로 인한 피해가 커지고 있는 만큼 보안 강화도 SaaS 확장의 핵심이 될 것으로 보인다.
