실리콘밸리 스타트업계, 10대 창업자에 집중 투자 확산

스타트업얼라이언스에 따르면 2022년 스타트업 총투자 수는 1,765건으로 총투자금은 11조 14억원으로 나타났다. 2021년 투자 실적과 비교하면 투자 건수는 1,186건에서 1.5배 증가했으며 총투자금은 2021년 약 11조 7,286억 원에서 5,882억 원 감소한 수치를 나타냈다.

무엇보다 블록체인 스타트업이 반드시 갖춰야 하는 덕목에 대해 황 대표는 '글로벌'이라고 답했다. 황 대표는 "블록체인, 암호화폐 시장에서 국경은 아무런 의미가 없다. 무엇을 개발하고 팔든 글로벌 시장을 대상으로 해야 한다"고 강조했다.

구글과 쉐브론, 핵융합 스타트업에 12억달러 투자

Google and Chevron were part of a $250 million funding raise announced Tuesday for TAE Technologies, a nuclear fusion startup with an unconventional strategy that has now raised a total of $1.2 billion. A Japanese investment company, Sumitomo Corporation of Americas, also participated in the round, and will help TAE bring its fusion technology to the Asia-Pacific region. TAE was founded in 1998 and aims to have a commercial scale fusion reactor delivering energy to the grid in the early 2030s.

It’s a stark contrast to last year, when IPOs were raising record amounts of cash, valuations were sky high and venture firms’ wallets were wide open. Y Combinator said companies have to “understand that the poor public market performance of tech companies significantly impacts VC investing.”
