디즈니, 스트리밍 가입자 증가 수 '예상치' 뛰어넘었다

Disney+ subscriptions rose to 152.1 million during the fiscal third quarter. Disney shares rose more than 6% after the closing bell Wednesday. Hulu, ESPN+ and Disney+ have over 221 million streaming subscribers. Netflix, long the leader in the streaming space, had 220 million subscribers.

Paramount Global reported today that its streaming service Paramount+ had a net add of 3.7 million subscribers to bring its global total to 43.3 million, up from 39.6 million last quarter. CEO Bob Bakish has said the company aims to reach 100 million Paramount+ subscribers by 2024.

HBO Max will begin streaming all eight seasons of Game of Thrones in 4K. The company said all eight season would also support Dolby Atmos, as well as HDR10 and Dolby Vision. House of the Dragon debuts on August 21st. The only way to watch the entirety of the series in 4k was to buy the Ultra HD Blu-ray collection, which can cost up to $255.
