Apple is being fined $2.34 million for not including a charging brick in the retail box. The company stopped including charging bricks two years ago to make the boxes smaller and to reduce the carbon footprint. The Brazilian Ministry of Justice and Public Security said the company could take other steps, like switching to USB-C.

Apple has released an update to fix security flaws on its iPhone, iPad and Mac devices. The tech company says hackers may have "actively exploited" the flaw. The update is available to iPhone 6s and later, iPad Pro, iPad Air 2 and later and iPad 5th gen and later. It is also available to the iPad mini 4 and later versions and the iPod touch. Mac users running Monterey are also being encouraged to update.

Google is urging Apple to adopt Rich Communications Services (RCS) to make texting between Android and iPhones easier. Google says RCS doesn't work between Apple's proprietary iMessage and Google's Messages app. RCS supercharges regular text messages, allowing for features like reading receipts, text effects, and other benefits. But because the platforms aren't compatible, messages between iPhones and Androids revert to regular, outdated text messages.
