애플의 최고경영자(CEO) 팀 쿡이 올해 자신의 연봉을 작년보다 40% 자진 삭감했다. 12일(현지시간) CNBC 및 블룸버그통신 등 주요 외신은 애플이 투자자들의 가이드라인과 함께 쿡의 요구를 반영해 그의 올해 연봉을 작년보다 40% 줄어든 4천 900만달러, 우리 돈으로 606억원 가량을 책정했다고 보도했다.

Executive compensation has come under increasing pressure from institutional shareholders. Apple also reduced the number in 2022, Cook made just under $83 million.

Apple is planning to start using its own custom displays in mobile devices as early as 2024, an effort to reduce its reliance on technology partners like Samsung and LG and bring more components in-house.The company aims to begin by swapping out the display in the highest-end Apple Watches by the end of next year, according to people with knowledge of the matter. The screens upgrade the current OLED standard to a technology called microLED, and Apple plans to eventually bring the displays to other devices, including the iPhone.

애플이 개발 중인 혼합현실(MR) 헤드셋이 올 봄에 공개될 것이라는 전망이 나왔다. 블룸버그통신은 8일(현지시간) 소식통을 인용해 애플이 MR헤드셋 '리얼리티'의 개발을 거의 마쳤으며 오는 봄에 공개할 것이라고 전했다. 또한 6월 개최되는 ‘세계개발자회의’(WWDC)에서 개발자들을 대상으로 헤드셋 관련 소프트웨어 기능에 대해 발표하고 가을에 제품을 정식 출시한다는 계획이다.
