Google said it will pay $700 million to settle an antitrust lawsuit brought by attorneys general in 30 U.S. states and implement changes to its App Store that it has opposed for years. As part of the settlement, Google will now allow app developers to accept payments directly from the marketplace using its own payment system.

Epic drew the ire of Apple (and Google) when it revealed that mobile Fortnite players could get discounts on V-Bucks, an in-game commodity, by bypassing the iOS and Android payment systems. Apple and Google take up to 30% of in-app transactions on iOS and Android as fees.
