네덜란드 암스테르담에 기반을 둔 스타트업 에어벨(airbell)은 자전거 도난 문제를 해결하기 위해 자전거 손잡이에 장착하는 종(Bell)인 개발했다. 평범한 자전거 종처럼 보이는 에어벨은 종 내부에 애플 에어태그를 숨겨둘 수 있다는 점이 기존 자전거 종과 다른 점이다.

Arizona Attorney General Mark Brnovich sued Google in May 2020. Google allegedly used "deceptive and unfair" practices to track users' locations. 알뜰폰의 위치추적이 쉽지 않다는 사실이 알려지며 갑론을박이 이어지고 있다. 이유로는 알뜰폰의 계약 주체가 이통사가 아닌 알뜰폰 업체라서 개인정보보호법 등으로 인해 정보 공유가 어렵기 때문이라는 지적이 나왔다. 이러한 상황에서 최근 한양대학교 융합전자공학부 통신시스템연구실 문희찬 교수팀은 LTE 신호만으로 긴급 구조 요청자의 위치를 파악할 수 있는 ‘이동통신 신호 기반 정밀위치측정기술(HELPS: Hyper Enhanced Local Positioning System) 개발 소식을 알려 주목받고 있다.
