미국보다 먼저 틱톡을 자국에서 퇴출한 인도의 사례가 주목받고 있다. 인도는 2020년 인도와 중국 국경에서 발생한 폭력 충돌로 최소 20명의 자국 군인이 사망한후, 돌연 틱톡과 기타 유명한 중국 앱들을 금지했다. 그리고 4년이 지난 현재, 인도는 틱톡이 완전히 사라진 세상에서 적절한 대안을 찾은 것으로 보인다.
