아마존, 내년 일본서 '처방약판매' 추진

Amazon is reportedly planning to launch a prescription drug delivery service in Japan next year. The company would not operate its own pharmacies or carry its own inventory, the report said. Amazon is already active in the online pharmacy business. The online retail giant recently announced its planned acquisition of primary care company One Medical.

In an important landmark for the buzzword, The Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) of Japan opens its own Web3 Policy Office in the Minister’s Secretariat. The new entity commits to bringing together the departments responsible for industrial finance, taxation, corporate system and those that deal with media and content, sports, fashion and the other entertainment industries.

Japan's self-regulation of the crypto industry is faltering, according to local experts. The Japan Virtual Currency Exchange Association has been tasked with creating guidelines for the country's crypto industry. The JVCEA was formed in response to the $530 million hack on the Coincheck exchange in 2018. It has been criticized by Japan's Financial Services Agency for its slowness in introducing anti-money laundering regulation.

The United States is on top of the supercomputing world in the Top500 ranking of the most powerful systems. The Frontier system from Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) running on AMD EPYC CPUs took first place from last year's champ, Japan's ARM A64X Fugaku system. It's still in the integration and testing process at the ORNL in Tennessee, but will eventually be operated by the US Air Force and US Department of Energy.

SBI Motor Japan has announced that its customers can now make payments for used cars using Bitcoin (BTC) and Ripple (XRP). According to the announcement by SBI on Monday, the development marks the first time XRP cryptocurrency will be deployed on a cross-border e-commerce website in Japan. The BTC and XRP transactions will be settled on the SBI VC Trade Co. Ltd, a cryptocurrency exchange owned by the SBI Group. The platform, according to SBI, will use appropriate security methods in order to prevent money laundering and terrorist financing through crypto transactions.
