Airbnb formally launched its mainland China business in 2016 and has faced mounting competition from domestic players. Stays in China have accounted for approximately 1% of revenue for the last few years.

Pony.ai announced it has received a license to operate its self-driving taxis in China, the first company to achieve the permit, having 100 robotaxis in operation throughout Nansha, Guangzhou, charging riders fares alongside traditional taxis. The company's robotaxi service has completed over 700,000 orders, with nearly 80% repeat users and 99% of the passengers giving positive comments after their trips.

중국의 대형 자동차 제조사 광저우자동차(GAC)가 배터리 교환식 전기차 시장에 합류했다. 광저우자동차는 전기차 배터리 교환 스테이션을 올해에만 광저우시를 중심으로 220개소 이상, 2025년까지 1000개소 이상을 마련한다는 계획이다. 중국 내 배터리 교환식 전기차 시장은 니오, 지리자동차, CATL 등이 초기 시장 경쟁을 벌이고 있다.
