구글의 모회사 알파벳이 25일(현지시간) 올해 1분기 매출이 전년동기대비 2.6% 증가한 697억 9,000만달러(약 93조 5000억 원), 주당 순이익은 1.17달러를 기록했다. 각각 시장 예상치인 680억 9000만 달러와 1.07달러를 웃돌았는데 영업이익은 174억 달러로 지난해 같은 기간에 비해 13% 감소했다.

Microsoft (MS) has reported earnings that beat stock market expectations. The company reported revenue of $52.86 billion ($69.894 billion) for the first quarter of the year. That beat Wall Street estimates of $51.02 billion ($68.4688 billion), according to market research firm Refinitiv. Shares jumped more than 4% in after-hours trading. According to MS's Intelligent Cloud business, which includes Azure's public cloud, led overall revenue with $22.8 billion ($29.63 billion), the company said.

Amazon unveiled on Monday that it will be laying off 9,000 employees, including many from AWS, the world’s largest cloud computing company. “The role reductions in AWS were driven by reprioritization decisions, which required us to reallocate resources,” said an AWS spokesperson to CRN. “In most cases this involved people shifting projects, priorities, or teams, but in some cases we didn’t have the right skill match for these priorities.”
