It kind of makes sense that Tesla would make wireless chargers. After all, when you think of the company, you think electric vehicles and their Superchargers (at least, after you force the image of Elon Musk out of your mind). But wireless charging is a slightly different beast that requires understanding of magnetic fields and expertise in power transfer technologies. That’s where Freepower, formerly known as Aira, comes in. Founder Jake Slatnick started the company in 2017 and told Engadget that it has spent the last five and a half years developing a “much more advanced form of Qi,” the industry-wide standard for wireless charging.

China’s BYD having risen over the past decade to become one of the top global sellers of electric passenger cars, is now plotting a big push into battery-electric commercial vehicles. Over the next three years, BYD plans to introduce new commercial-vehicle models in markets including China, Europe and Japan, according to people familiar with the company’s plans. It has mapped out a budget of more than $20 billion for its commercial-vehicle unit through 2025, with major outlays planned for research, product development and expansion of production capacity, the people said.

Tesla Chief Executive Elon Musk on Tuesday said that the next generation small car the company is working on would operate mostly in autonomous mode, similar to a promise he made in 2020. On Tuesday he said there was a clear path to delivering a car that cost half as much to build as Tesla's Model 3 sedan, but he offered no details about timing or models.

테슬라의 ‘투자자의 날’ 행사후 기업의 주가가 오히려 하락했다. 테슬라의 이번 행사에는 기업의 비전과 그동안의 성과에 대해서 길게 설명을 늘어놨지만, 저렴하고 새로운 모델 등 구체적인 비즈니스 세부사항에 대한 내용은 없었다. 앞서 일론 머스크가 공약했던 기업의 주요 목표도 제대로 지켜지지 않았다는 지적이 나온다.

The Tesla chief executive and other Tesla managers made their pitch Wednesday at an investor event held at the company’s factory near the Texas capital. The presentation, dubbed the company’s “Master Plan Part 3,” was part mission statement and partly a look under the hood at how Tesla tackled various design and engineering challenges and is lowering costs.

The maximum capacity planned for the Brandenburg plant is 500,000 vehicles a year. Tesla has also begun assembling batteries in Germany that will be used in vehicles produced at the plant.

Tesla is recalling all 363,000 of its vehicles with its "Full Self Driving" software. The feature requires a human driver to take control at any moment, as the system makes judgment errors. Tesla will attempt to fix the the FSD feature, which costs $15,000, through an over-the-air update.
