글로벌 스마트폰 출하량, 올해 소폭 감소... 5년간 연평균 2.6% 성장

글로벌 스마트폰 출하량이 2027년까지 연평균 2.6％의 성장과 함께 올해는 글로벌 경기 침체 영향으로 소폭 하락할 전망이 나왔다. 다만 폴더블폰은 지난해와 비교해 약50% 이상 성장할 것으로 예상된다. 6일 시장조사업체 IDC에 따르면 올해 스마트폰 출하량은 11억 9280만 대로 예상됐다. 이는 지난해 12억 550만 대보다 1.1％ 소폭 감소한 수치다. IDC는 애초 올해 스마트폰 출하량이 작년에 비해 2.8% 증가할 것으로 예측했지만, 수요 부진과 거시경제 불확실성이 이어지면서 기존 전망치를 하향 수정했다.

올해 세계 폴더블폰 시장이 엄청나게 성장할 것이란 전망이 나오는 가운데 연초부터 세계 폴더블폰 시장에 격랑이 일고 있다. 지난해 삼성은 이 분야에서 82%의 세계 시장 점유율을 차지했지만 시장을 둘러싼 상황은 만만치 않게 전개되고 있다. 지난해 말부터 최근까지 달포동안 나온 시장조사 회사들의 올해 세계 폴더블폰 시장 전망은 한마디로 ‘폴더블폰이 날개돋친 듯 팔릴 것’이라는 것이다.

Samsung debuted the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4 foldable smartphones on Wednesday. The Z Fold 4 features a book-style design that opens up to a 7.6-inch AMOLED 2x display, while the Z Flip 4 opens up like a clamshell. Both phones go on sale Aug. 26 and start at $1,799 and $999, respectively.

In the original tweet, Ice Universe specified that the Galaxy Z foldable will weigh around 254 grams. Compared to the previous-generation Fold (which came in at about 271), this is a decrease of 17 grams.
