Amazon has announced that it will allow auto dealers to sell cars on its site, starting with Hyundai Motor Co. The two companies also agreed to work together to equip Hyundai vehicles with Amazon's artificial intelligence (AI) assistant Alexa. For a limited time, Hyundai is offering a free EV charger and a discounted installation fee of $600. The deal will be available on select models through October 31. Electric cars are an attractive option because they offer a better driving experience and don't require gas money, other costs and procedures still stand in the way. Hyundai is looking to minimize these negatives with a new event that offers free chargers and up to $600 off installation. Hyundai's ChargePoint Home Flex Level 2 EV charger normally costs $549, for a total savings of $1,100.

Tesla's U.S. share is in crisis. In January-February of last year, Tesla had a 72% share of the U.S. EV market. This year, its market share has plummeted to 58% in January-February. During the same period, South Korean carmakers Hyundai and KIA surpassed the 10% market share mark, while U.S. automaker General Motors (GM) saw its market share jump from 0.1% last year to 9.9% this year. Ford had 8.4%. Randy Parker, CEO of Hyundai Motor America asked on Yahoo Finance Live about Hyundai's Ioniq 6, which was named the 2023 Car of the Year, "Who is Tesla?"

Hyundai's e-Corner technology allows a car's wheels to turn in ways they can't in a vehicle with a traditional suspension system. The technology was first showcased at CES 2018 and is expected to be rolled out in 2025. It will likely be another few years before the modules start showing up in production vehicles.
