Apple could be fined up to 10% of its global turnover of $36.6bn (£29.2bn) based on its revenue last year. Apple denies the charge and has promised to engage with the Commission. If the charges are upheld, it could be fines up to $10bn based on revenue of £29.3bn.

The EU is fighting to make USB-C charging the standard on portable devices. The hope is for people to only have one charger for all of their small and medium-sized device. This would include smartphones, tablets, and headphones, among others. There would be exceptions for devices too small for a USB- C port, like smart watches.
