The AI startup xAI, led by Elon Musk, will make its chatbot Grok available to Telegram users for one year starting this summer. Telegram, a cloud-based messaging platform, announced the partnership through its CEO Pavel Durov on X (formerly Twitter). Users will be able to pin Grok to the top of their chats, ask questions, create stickers, and use features such as summarizing chats, links, and documents. Durov emphasized user privacy, stating that “xAI will only access information explicitly shared with Grok through direct interactions with users.” To support the integration, xAI will provide Telegram with a total of $300 million in cash and equity. Telegram will also receive half of the subscription revenue generated from xAI services purchased through its app.
