Microsoft has added a range of AI-powered features to its core Windows 11 applications—Paint, Snipping Tool, and Notepad. These features are being gradually rolled out to Windows Insiders using the Canary and Dev builds, with some limited to Copilot+ PCs. Paint now includes a feature that allows users to generate stickers using AI. By entering a text prompt, users can create stickers that can be copied or saved directly. This functionality is only available on Copilot+ devices. In addition, a Smart Object Selection feature has been introduced to automatically detect and highlight specific elements within an image. A new start screen has also been added to notify users of recent updates and new features. Two AI features have been added to the Snipping Tool. The first, called “Perfect Screenshot,” uses AI to analyze the screen and automatically capture the optimal portion without requiring manual cropping. The second allows users to identify any color on the screen and retrieve its HEX, RGB, or HSL values. Notepad has also been enhanced with generative AI capabilities. Users can now write or edit text using AI by placing the cursor in the desired position and selecting the "Write" command from the menu or by pressing Ctrl + Q. This feature can be disabled in the settings if desired.
마이크로소프트가 윈도우 11의 기본 애플리케이션인 페인트, 스니핑 툴, 메모장에 인공지능(AI) 기반 기능을 대거 추가했다. 이번 기능들은 카나리 및 개발자 빌드를 사용하는 윈도우 인사이더 대상부터 순차적으로 배포되며, 일부는 코파일럿 플러스(Copilot+) PC에 한정된다. 페인트에는 AI로 스티커를 생성하는 기능이 도입됐다. 사용자는 텍스트 힌트를 입력해 원하는 스티커를 만들 수 있으며, 생성된 스티커는 복사하거나 저장할 수 있다. 이 기능은 코파일럿 플러스 PC에서만 제공된다. 또한 이미지 내 특정 대상을 자동으로 인식해 강조하는 '스마트 오브젝트 선택' 기능과, 최근 업데이트를 안내하는 시작 창도 새롭게 추가됐다. 스니핑 툴에는 두 가지 AI 기능이 탑재된다. 하나는 '완벽한 스크린샷' 기능으로, AI가 화면의 콘텐츠를 분석해 자동으로 최적의 스크린샷을 생성한다. 다른 하나는 화면상의 모든 색상을 식별할 수 있는 기능으로, 사용자는 선택한 색상의 HEX, RGB, HSL 값을 확인할 수 있다. 메모장에서는 생성형 AI를 활용해 텍스트를 작성하거나 수정할 수 있게 됐다. 사용자는 원하는 위치에 커서를 두고 메뉴 명령어나 단축키(Ctrl + Q)를 통해 AI 기능을 호출할 수 있으며, 해당 기능은 설정에서 끌 수도 있다.
