The AI commerce assistant Sidekick received voice chat and screen sharing capabilities as part of the platform's latest updates. The AI store builder generates ready-to-launch storefronts when users describe their brand, such as "tennis gear and stylish athleisure," allowing merchants to focus on personalization. A new theme called "Horizon" includes built-in AI assistance and "Theme Blocks" for code-free customization of online stores. Sidekick now responds audibly to complex questions about topics like tariffs and helps navigate platform settings through screen sharing. The assistant was rolled out to all merchants in December 2024, with monthly users more than doubling since early 2025.
