As Apple's Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) approaches in June, where AI is expected to be a major topic, the company is reportedly intensifying its talks with OpenAI about a potential partnership. Apple has been exploring collaborations with several large AI companies for on-device chatbot capabilities, and discussions with OpenAI about a potential deal took place earlier this year and have recently reopened. The agreement could involve OpenAI integrations into iOS 18. However, no deal has been reached yet, and Apple is also in talks with Google about bringing the latter's Gemini to iPhone. Meanwhile, Apple researchers are reportedly working on an AI upgrade to Siri as well. Whatever Apple's plans may be, they are unlikely to be revealed until WWDC.
