앤스로픽(Anthropic) CEO가 AI로 인한 화이트칼라 대량실업을 경고했다.
다리오 아모데이(Dario Amodei) CEO는 향후 1~5년 화이트칼라 초급 직종의 절반이 사라지고 실업률이 10~20%까지 치솟을 수 있다고 밝혔다. 아모데이 는 기술, 금융, 법률, 컨설팅 등 화이트칼라 직업, 특히 초급 직종의 대규모 일자리 소멸 가능성에 대해 현실을 감추지 말고 솔직하게 알려야 한다고 강조했다. 그는 "암이 치료되고 경제가 연 10% 성장하며 예산이 균형을 이루지만 20%의 사람들이 실업 상태가 된다"는 시나리오를 제시했다.
메타의 마크 저커버그도 2025년 중급 수준 코더들이 불필요해질 것이라고 예측했으며, 실제로 메타는 인력을 5% 축소한다고 발표했다. 아모데이는 해결책으로 AI 기업 수익의 3%를 정부가 세금으로 징수해 재분배하는 '토큰세' 도입을 제안했다. 그는 "기차 앞에 서서 막을 수는 없지만 기차가 가는 방향을 10도 정도 바꿀 수는 있다"며 지금 당장 행동해야 한다고 촉구했다.

Dario Amodei said AI could eliminate half of all entry-level white-collar jobs and spike unemployment to 10-20% within the next one to five years. The 42-year-old executive called for an end to "sugar-coating" the potential mass job elimination across technology, finance, law, consulting and other white-collar professions, particularly entry-level positions. He presented a scenario where "cancer is cured, the economy grows at 10% a year, the budget is balanced — and 20% of people don't have jobs." Meta's Mark Zuckerberg also predicted that mid-level coders will become unnecessary by 2025, with Meta announcing a 5% workforce reduction. As a solution, Amodei proposed a "token tax" where 3% of AI company revenues would be collected by the government and redistributed. He urged immediate action, saying "You can't just step in front of the train and stop it, but you can steer the train — steer it 10 degrees in a different direction from where it was going."
