Microsoft is set to launch its handheld gaming consoles, the ‘ROG Xbox Ally’ and the high-performance ‘ROG Xbox Ally X,’ later this year. Both devices have been developed in collaboration with ASUS and run on Windows 11, supporting PC gaming, cloud gaming, and remote play. These handheld consoles offer controls similar to an Xbox controller and provide access to various apps like Discord and Twitch. They integrate seamlessly with multiple platforms, including Game Pass, Xbox, PC storefronts, and Battle.net, allowing smooth gameplay across consoles, PCs, and the cloud. Although Microsoft has been slow to enter the handheld gaming market, this launch positions the company to compete directly with Nintendo Switch and Valve’s Steam Deck.
