Musk’s claims were made without evidence, and there are examples of the Chinese AI app DeepSeek and Perplexity reaching the top of the App Store rankings even after Apple and OpenAI announced their partnership. OpenAI CEO Sam Altman pushed back, calling Musk’s comments a “remarkable claim,” while Musk fired back, saying Altman “lies as easily as he breathes.”
