Cryptocurrency exchange Bybit has reported that it suffered a hack resulting in the theft of digital assets worth approximately 1.1 trillion won (about $1.5 billion). This is estimated to be the largest theft in cryptocurrency history. According to Bybit, hackers attacked their Ethereum wallet and stole cryptocurrency worth $1.5 billion. The company has assured that customer assets are safe and promised to fully compensate affected users. As a result of this incident, the price of Ethereum dropped by about 4%. Bybit's founder, Ben Zhou, stated that the company holds $20 billion in assets and can cover the losses from the hack.
