Nir Zuk, founder and CTO of Palo Alto Networks, has pointed out the growth limitations of cybersecurity startups. At a recent company event, Zuk said that due to the need for massive amounts of data and the rise of AI, new cybersecurity startups will find it difficult to replicate past successes. Zuk argued that success in today's cybersecurity field requires vast amounts of data, which is impossible to acquire in a short period. He predicted that this data advantage, coupled with advancements in AI technology, will further strengthen the position of existing large companies. Palo Alto Networks is currently the largest company in the cybersecurity industry with a market capitalization of $118 billion. Zuk predicted that competing with large vendors like his company will become increasingly difficult. Meanwhile, Zuk revealed that he is not personally investing in the cybersecurity sector. Instead, he said he is investing in health tech, defense technology, and fintech areas where AI does not yet provide a decisive advantage.
