생성형 인공지능(AI)은 글을 쓰고 그림을 만들며 프로그램 코드까지 작성한다. AI가 사람의 지적 업무를 상당 부분 대신할 수 있다는 전망도 나온다. 그러나 화면 속에서 좋은 답을 만드는 것과 공장·병원·도로에서 실제 문제를 해결하는 것은 다르다. 제조 현장에는 불량품이 충분하지 않고, 병원에서는 환자의 민감한 데이터를 마음대로 모을 수 없다. 차량에 탑재하는 AI는 작은 장치 안에서 주변 상황을 빠르게 판단해야 한다.
