This was revealed in a document submitted to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission on July 3. Overall, the business optimization plan to strategically align the company's workforce will reduce overall headcount by approximately 1.7% to approximately 23,000. The announced optimization plans are expected to result in annual cost savings of approximately $200 million, which would be a major boost for the MSP software giant with annual revenue of $4.5 billion. At the same time, the company is reinvesting approximately $50 million annually in approximately 800 new roles in sales, professional services, and engineering. “Our business optimization plan is focused on placing the right roles in the global locations that best fit our business,” an OpenText spokesperson told CRN.
