구글, 호주 웹링크 관련 소송에서 승소

Australia's High Court rules Google wasn't the publisher of a 2004 story that allegedly tarnished state lawyer George Defteros. The story was about a Melbourne lawyer who represented people implicated in the Melbourne gangland killings. Google pulled the link in December 2014, but tried to overturn the ruling. The company lost its first appeal, and in 2020 a Victorian supreme court ordered that Deftero receive $40,000 in damages.

In “Do As I Can, Not As I Say: Grounding Language in Robotic Affordances”, we present a novel approach, developed in partnership with Everyday Robots, that leverages advanced language model knowledge to enable a physical agent, such as a robot, to follow high-level textual instructions for physically-grounded tasks, while grounding the language model in tasks that are feasible within a specific real-world context. We evaluate our method, which we call PaLM-SayCan, by placing robots in a real kitchen setting and giving them tasks expressed in natural language.

Google is urging Apple to adopt Rich Communications Services (RCS) to make texting between Android and iPhones easier. Google says RCS doesn't work between Apple's proprietary iMessage and Google's Messages app. RCS supercharges regular text messages, allowing for features like reading receipts, text effects, and other benefits. But because the platforms aren't compatible, messages between iPhones and Androids revert to regular, outdated text messages.

South Korea's communication watchdog will investigate Apple and Google over potential violations of the country's in-app payment rule. The agency is also investigating SK Group's homegrown app store called ONE Store. The watchdog said it had looked into the practices of all three app stores since May 17 and determined that they might have breached the country’s telecommunication act.
