As the US tightens tech export restrictions to China, including on Nvidia chips, Chinese companies are increasingly looking for non-US suppliers. The $61.83 million chip deal between Baidu and Huawei, though small, indicates a strategic shift as Chinese firms anticipate losing access to US chip makers. This move reflects the broader impact of US export curbs on the business strategies of Chinese internet giants.

중국 바이두가 운전자가 필요 없는 레벨4 수준의 완전자율주행 로보택시 아폴로 RT6를 공개했다. 4만달러 이하 시판가에 오는 2023년 하반기 출시한다는 목표다. 바이두를 아폴로 RT6를 활용해 2025년까지 중국 65개 도시에서 로보택시 서비스를 제공할 계획이다.

Baidu says, the RT6's detachable steering wheel could be replaced by extra seats, vending machines, desks or games consoles. Each Apollo RT6 would cost 250,000 yuan (£31,000) - significantly less than previous models, Baidu said. "This massive cost reduction will enable us to deploy tens of thousands of [automated vehicles] across China," co-founder and chief executive Robin Li told the company's annual technology conference.
