美, 50조원 반도체보조금 신청 접수… 삼성·SK도 받나

미국 정부가 자국 내 반도체 생산을 장려하기 위해 기업에 지급하는 총 390억달러(약 50조원) 상당의 보조금에 대한 신청을 내주부터 받는다. 지나 러몬도 미국 상무부 장관은 23일(현지시간) 미국 워싱턴DC에 있는 조지타운대에서 “반도체법으로 자금을 지원하기 위해 28일부터 신청을 받는다”고 말했다. 다만 미국은 중국에 신규 투자를 하지 않는 기업에만 보조금을 주겠다는 입장이라 중국에 반도체 공장을 운영 중인 삼성전자와 SK하이닉스가 보조금을 받을 수 있을지 주목된다.

올해 세계 폴더블폰 시장이 엄청나게 성장할 것이란 전망이 나오는 가운데 연초부터 세계 폴더블폰 시장에 격랑이 일고 있다. 지난해 삼성은 이 분야에서 82%의 세계 시장 점유율을 차지했지만 시장을 둘러싼 상황은 만만치 않게 전개되고 있다. 지난해 말부터 최근까지 달포동안 나온 시장조사 회사들의 올해 세계 폴더블폰 시장 전망은 한마디로 ‘폴더블폰이 날개돋친 듯 팔릴 것’이라는 것이다.

The Odyssey Neo G9 is a 57-inch 32:9 super ultra-wide curved curved display with 7680 x 2160 resolution.

Samsung's Wallet app will be available in 13 more countries by the end of 2022. Most are in Europe, Scandinavia and western Asia, including Denmark, Finland, Kazakhstan, Norway, Sweden and Switzerland. Wallet effectively merges Samsung's Pay and Pass apps, and can store IDs, boarding passes and digital car keys.

삼성, 17인치 슬라이더블 PC용 디스플레이 공개

Samsung Display and Intel are working on a concept PC that slides into a 17-inch screen. The PC is a concept for now, and there's no word on when it will become a reality. Samsung Display CEO JS Choi said that "foldable is gone" on PCs for now.

Samsung has started rolling out the One UI 4.1.1 update to the Galaxy Z Fold 3 and Galaxy Z Flip 3. The update is based on Android 12L and first appeared on the Z Fold 4 and Z Flip 4. It includes multitasking gestures, a PC-like taskbar, and optimized apps. Samsung is also rolling out a Watch 4.5 update for the Galaxy Watch 4 and Watch 4 Classic. The Watch 4 will have six new interactive watch faces and additional customizations.

Samsung has confirmed a data breach affecting customers' personal information. The company discovered the security incident in late-July and that an “unauthorized third party acquired information from some of Samsung’s U.S. systems” Samsung said it determined customer data was compromised on August 4.

삼성의 QD-OLED 게이밍 모니터 올해 말 출시 예정

Samsung's Odyssey OLED G8 is the first gaming monitor with a QD-OLED panel. The G85SB has a 34-inch screen with a 21:9 aspect ratio and 1800R curvature. It has a blazing fast 0.1ms response time and 175Hz refresh rate. Samsung didn't share pricing information, but expect it to cost around $1,300.
