Salesforce is the latest tech powerhouse to join ChatGPT mania. The company said Tuesday that it will release software incorporating artificial intelligence to help salespeople, customer service agents and marketers do their jobs. Salesforce is calling the offering Einstein GPT, drawing on OpenAI’s technology that’s taken the tech industry by storm since the Microsoft-backed startup opened ChatGPT to the public in November.

클라우드 소프트웨어 제조업체 세일즈포스가 월가의 예상치를 깬 실적 발표로 시간외 주가에서 16% 급등세를 기록하고 있다. 성명에 따르면 1월 31일에 마감된 회계연도 4분기에 세일즈포스의 매출은 전년 동기 대비 14% 증가하여 전 분기와 비슷한 수준을 유지했다. CNBC는 세일즈포스의 분기 주당 순이익은 조정 기준 1.68 달러(예상치 1. 36), 분기 매출도 83억 8000만 달러로 (예상치 79억 9000만 달러) 예상치를 크게 웃돈 실적을 발표했다.

새해에도 미국 빅테크 기업들의 구조조정 한파는 계속되고 있다. 세일즈포스가 연초부터 전체 인력의 10%를 감원하는 구조조정 계획을 발표하면서 빅테크 고용한파가 새해에도 이어지고 있다. 4일(현지시간) 로이터통신 및 CNBC에 따르면 세일즈포스는 이날 미 증권거래위원회(SEC) 공시를 통해 전체 인력의 10%를 해고하고 특정 지역들의 사무실을 축소할 계획이라고 밝혔다. 또한, 14억~21억 달러의 구조조정 비용이 발생할 것으로 예상한다고 회사 측은 전했다.
