Kayvon Beykpour, Bruce Falck and Jay Sullivan have been fired from Twitter. CEO Parag Agrawal responded to both tweets, thanking them for their work. He also announced that Twitter is pausing hiring and backfills, except for business critical roles.
Alibaba BABA Group Holding Ltd. posted the slowest revenue growth for the second straight quarter. The Chinese e-commerce giant said challenges from Covid-19 outbreaks are severely cutting into its business across China. Alibaba said that since mid-March, it has seen broad impact from supply-chain and logistics disruptions.
Ford has started delivering the F-150 Lightning electric pickup truck to retail and fleet customers. The electric pickup trucks are needed to accelerate EV adoption in the US, because of how big the pickup segment is in the country. This year, production is expected to be limited to about 40,000 units.
Despite the overall market being disrupted by Covid lockdowns, plugins scored over 260,000 registrations in April, up 61% year over year, with a 29% market share. Full electrics accounted for 22% of the country’s auto sales. This pulled the 2022 share to 22% (17% BEV).
The Google foldable is expected to be released in 2023. This would be the second time the device has been delayed since last year. The Google Camera app included the detection flag "isPixel2022Foldable" alongside flags for other Pixel devices, but we didn't hear anything about a Pixel foldable.
