Google has decided to discontinue its search services through country-specific domains (ccTLDs) and will now provide all searches via google.com. As a result, accessing country-specific Google domains such as google.co.uk in the UK or google.co.jp in Japan will automatically redirect users to google.com. Since 2017, Google has been delivering localized search results based on users’ location information, and this latest move officially ends the country-specific domain system. Google stated that this change will only affect the domain displayed in the browser’s address bar and will not impact how the search service operates or how the company complies with national laws.
