A former program manager for Blue Origin's BE-4 rocket engine has filed a lawsuit against the company, alleging that he suffered whistleblower retaliation after blowing the whistle on safety concerns. The lawsuit was filed in Los Angeles County Superior Court. The complaint details the efforts the program manager, Craig Stoker, made over a seven-month period to raise concerns about safety and a hostile work environment at Blue Origin. In May 2022, Stoker told two vice presidents that the behavior of then-CEO Bob Smith caused employees to "frequently violate safety procedures and processes to meet unreasonable deadlines." and that Smith "exploded" when problems arose, creating a hostile work environment.
