SAMR is said to be scrutinizing Apple's practice of taking up to 30% commission on in-app purchases and its policy of blocking third-party payment services and app stores. However, a decision on whether to launch an official investigation has not yet been made. Following this news, Apple's stock price fell by approximately 1%. Apple has maintained that its App Store policies are designed to protect users and improve product experience. Meanwhile, China has recently launched an antitrust investigation into Google and is also reportedly considering a probe into Intel. These actions are seen as measures taken amid escalating U.S.-China trade tensions. Apple has already made some changes to its App Store policies in compliance with the European Union's Digital Markets Act. If the investigation in China materializes, Apple is expected to face additional challenges in the crucial Chinese market. In fact, Apple's revenue in Greater China declined by 11% year-on-year in the December quarter.
