Data security company Rubrik is acquiring the open-source artificial intelligence (AI) model fine-tuning startup Predibase. The acquisition price is reported to be between $100 million and $500 million. Rubrik plans to leverage Predibase’s proprietary post-training technology stack to help its customers rapidly transition their AI projects from pilot to large-scale production. Through this acquisition, Rubrik aims to move beyond its image as a data security vendor to become a key enabler for building AI solutions. Bipul Sinha, CEO of Rubrik, said, “What the Predibase team has achieved in model training and serving infrastructure is truly remarkable. Through the collaboration between our two companies, we will accelerate the adoption of agentic AI worldwide and deliver immediate value to our customers.”
데이터 보안 기업 '루브릭(Rubrik)'이 오픈소스 인공지능(AI) 모델 파인튜닝 스타트업 '프레디베이스(Predibase)'를 인수한다. 인수 금액은 1억~5억 달러로 알려졌다. 루브릭은 프레디베이스의 독자적 사후 훈련(post-training) 기술 스택을 활용해 고객사의 AI 프로젝트를 파일럿 단계에서 대규모 상용화로 신속하게 전환할 수 있도록 지원할 계획이다. 이번 인수를 통해 루브릭은 데이터 보안 업체 이미지를 넘어 AI 구축을 위한 핵심 지원자로 도약한다는 전략이다. 비풀 시나(Bipul Sinha) 루브릭 CEO는 “프레디베이스 팀이 모델 훈련 및 서비스 인프라 분야에서 이룬 성과는 매우 인상적”이라며 “양사의 협력으로 전 세계적으로 에이전틱 AI 도입을 촉진하고 고객에게 즉각적인 가치를 제공할 것”이라고 밝혔다.
